The winner of Hurco's Colts tickets.

Since the international headquarters of Hurco has been right here in Indianapolis since Gerald Roch and E.L. Humston started Hurco in 1968, we decided to officially cheer for our home team by being an official sponsor! Each home game, we send an email to people in our Indiana region to enter a drawing for tickets to the Colts game.

And the winner is...(cue drum roll)

And the winner is...(cue drum roll)

We held our drawing for Sunday's Colts game against Tampa Bay. The winner was Don Dumoulin of Precise Mold in Columbus, Indiana. As a side note: we realized the southern part of the state has won every drawing so far for Colts tickets. We presumed it was because more people from that region entered. After reviewing the lists, it appears they are just luckier than the northern part of the state since entries from northern Indiana outnumber those from southern Indiana 3 to 1. Something to ponder.

Hurco and the NFL

Based in Indianapolis since 1968, this year Hurco decided to partner with our hometown football team: The Indianapolis Colts. We have signs, ads, etc., but the best part of the sponsorship is the fun fan experience we can share with machinists and shop owners throughout Indiana.

You Made Our Day Webster Students!

The students at L.C. Webster school in St. Paul, Minnesota, certainly brightened our day. They sent us thank you notes and hand-made posters. It would have made us smile any day, but it was an especially wonderful way to start the morning on this cloudy, cold, dreary day.

The class went on a field trip to a machine shop and their teacher thought they would get more out of the experience if they had some understanding of CNC machines before they went. We sent them Hurco catalogs (and some pens and stickers).

In addition to the artwork, we received handwritten thank you notes. Morgan said she uses her Hurco pen each day to do her homework when she's riding the bus home. She thanked us for taking time out of our work day to send the class brochures, stickers, and pens. Leah said she liked getting to see all of the machines on the field trip and the parts the people make on the machines--especially the aluminum part shaped like their state that had a panda on it!

Hats off to the entire L.C. Webster school, but especially to their teacher for sharing the world of manufacturing with these young students!
