Ed Carpenter replaces Conor Daly with 2014 Indianapolis 500 Winner Ryan Hunter-Reay

(INDIANAPOLIS) June 8, 2023 – Yesterday, Ed Carpenter, the only OWNER/DRIVER in the NTT IndyCar Series, announced that Conor Daly and ECR were ending their relationship. The announcement from Carpenter cited the need to elevate the team's competitiveness. (Scroll down for the full statement). 

Today, Carpenter announced that Ryan Hunter-Reay has been named the driver of ECR's No. 20 Bitnile.com car. Hunter-Reay was the IndyCar Series Champion in 2012. He has amassed 18 IndyCar wins, including the crown jewel of IndyCar, the Indianapolis 500, in 2014. Most recently, he competed in the 2023 Indianapolis 500 with Dreyer & Reinbold Racing, leading eight laps in the closing stages of the race and ultimately finishing 11th.

Hunter-Reay's debut for ECR will be at next weekend’s Sonsio Grand Prix at Road America on June 18th.
